Property checks that help you buy with confidence
Buying a property can feel like a leap in the dark if damp or timber issues are lurking behind fresh paint. We carry out detailed damp and timber reports for properties you are considering buying, providing the information mortgage providers and building surveyors may look for when assessing a property. Our PCA-member team includes PCA/ABBE-qualified CSTDB surveyors, with previous CSRT qualifications also forming part of our surveying experience. We carry out a full examination for damp, ventilation problems, woodworm infestations and timber decay, then explain what we find in plain language. We identify the type of woodworm infestation and type of rot, including whether treatment is required. Curedamp Ltd prepares these reports for properties with the practical detail you need when decisions cannot wait. That means you can move forward with more confidence and a clearer understanding of potential issues before completing your purchase.

What our report looks at
Our inspection goes beyond a quick glance because hidden moisture can affect walls, floors and structural timbers in different ways. We carry out condensation testing, assess ventilation concerns and check the general upkeep of the building to spot issues that may be contributing to damage. If timber has started to decay, we identify the likely type of rot and explain whether treatment is required. We also assess woodworm activity including the type of infestation and whether treatment is needed. If remedial work is recommended, we can break down the likely cost if you want us to complete the work after your purchase is finalised. The findings are presented in a report that can support you when making decisions about the property and discussing issues with lenders, sellers and surveyors. If your report identifies moisture concerns, we can also advise on damp proofing and rising damp treatment where required.
